There are several business immigration programs available through the provincial nomination pathways. Each province has its own selection criteria, but, generally, an applicant must meet the following:
- you must establish or purchase a qualifying business
- you must meet or exceed minimum net worth requirements
- you must make a minimum investment into the business
- you must create a minimum number of paid positions for either Canadian citizens or permanent residents
- you must be admissible in Canada
The provincial nomination business program generally requires an express of interest, and if you are selected, you will receive a work permit for a period of 1 to 2 years, during which you must establish or purchase your business.
Once you have completed the program requirements, you can then apply for permanent residence through the Government of Canada.
